In my private practice I work with adults and young people from the age of 18 upwards. I work with people on an individual basis (please note I am not a couples counsellor).
To explore any of the theories and ways of working please click on the links for more information. I work as an integrative counsellor which means I use different theoretical approaches within my work. The theories I have been trained in and inform my way of working are person-centred, psychodynamic and existential.
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and can be weekly or sometimes fortnightly. During the first session, we will talk about what counselling involves and explore how we might work together. We will also look at how the confidentiality of sessions works, any expectations, hopes or worries you may have and you can of course ask me any questions. Therapy can be short term, for a few sessions or longer term, depending on your needs.
Climate Crisis / Climate Anxiety and Grief
At this time of climate and ecological emergency, there is an increase in climate related anxiety, grief, depression and low mood. These are understandable and normal reactions to an unprecedentated situation in our lifetime and findings from research are showing that eco-anxiety is growing in people. Talking through these fears in counselling can help you find a way to express how you are feeling and especially in a natural setting, enabling you to engage with nature on a deeper and more healing level.
