You may not have had counselling before and so I hope this will give you an idea of what is involved.

Counselling is an opportunity to discuss and work through difficult and painful issues that are troubling you.

Counselling is not about judging you, telling you what you should do or giving out advice.

My role is to provide a quiet, private and supportive space where we can explore what is affecting you.

Counselling can help you gain a better understanding of difficulties you may be experiencing.  Sometimes these can be triggered by situations you find yourself in or perhaps unconsciously you are setting up defence mechanisms that work against you.

I believe that the core of counselling is building a therapeutic relationship together.  This relationship is built on honesty, trust and genuineness.  Be assured that whatever you choose to talk about, I will never treat you differently or judge you.

Having counselling may not always be an easy experience but it can be immensely rewarding and beneficial.
